2021 ITALIAN GRAND PRIX FP3 REVIEW (EMILIA ROMAGNA)

Final practice at Imola and Nicholas Latifi found himself sliding through the stones at Villeneuve, the Canadian losing it at the exit of the corner and taking to the gravel trap, which slowed his car down enough to avoid serious damage, but a new front wing would be needed after his Williams nestled into the barrier.

Max Verstappen felt the full force of Imola's kerbs, the dutchman bouncing through Acque Minerali. at the same time, Valteri Bottas again demonstrated his renowned rallying skills and Pierre Gasly found himself going wide at Tosa.

The rookies had it rough. Nikita Mazepin having a wobble through Tamburello and Mick Schumacher putting a toe in the gravel at Villeneuve.  However, Yuki Tsunoda's problems seemed to be with everyone else on the track.

The Alfa Romeos were not immune to the excursion, Kimi Raikkonen kicking up some dust at Rivazza 1 and Antonio Giovinazzi spinning his way through the Tamburello chicane, cold tires the culprit for the Italian's pirouette.

It was Verstappen who shone, the RedBull man with the quickest lap of the weekend so far and the first and only driver into! minute 14s. Lando Norris was an impossible P2 for Mclaren on the medium compound, Britain was about 4 tenths of a second back of the leader.

Lewis Hamilton has just edged Sergio for third, and Charles Leclerc continued his fine weekend with fifth, just ahead of equally impressive Pierre Gasly, who managed to split the two Ferraris, besting Carlos Sainz with a couple of hundredths of a second.

Bottas is P8 ahead of the Alpines of Fernando Alonso and Esteban Ocon, Tsunoda P11, Lance Stroll P12 then Ricciardio P13 on the medium compounds, followed by Sebastian Vettel, George Russell, Latifi and the two Alfa Romeos and Nikita Mazepin back in the 20th position.
