Lewis Hamilton has the track record at Imola but never has taken the pole position. Soft(C4), medium(C3)and hard(C2) compound tyres are used in this qualifying session. In some way or the other, the cars are too big and fast for Imola. These cars are smashing the kerbs, and they are just being aggressive to the track. 

Both the Haas cars came out first and Mick was leading them. The Mercedes, Ferrari and Mclarens were on the out lap. This is the circuit where Williams had a strong performance last year. We can see multiple runs at a time and the circuit is with traffic in Q1.

Vettel needed a goog quali-session to be in Q3. In his flying lap, he had a lot of torque which led to him going wide off the track. The FIA has cancelled his lap due to exploiting the track limits. We can see often these deleting of the laps because of exploiting track limits. The Aston Martin team were hoping a lot from Vettel. 

Three minutes passed in the qualifying and then Alpha Tauri's Yuki Tsunoda had crashed. He spurned his way through the corner In his flying lap. Pierre Gasly had slow down to check his rookie teammate. Marshalls need few brushes to sweep away the debris on the track. 

The qualifying is Red-Flagged. The air temperature is still only 13 Degrees. The weaving in the cars continued to generate more and more energy to make the tyres heat and get some extra grip in the corners. With 9 minutes to go Leclerc had a  wonderful lap and he sits in P1 for an instance. Then come Valteri Bottas and takes P! for Q1. With a wonderful performance, Norris goes to P2. 

 

Gasly has again exploited the track limits and so the lap was deleted. And again he went for a flying lap and he sat on P7. After Q1 Bottas is in P1, Hamilton in P2, Norris in P3 and Verstappen in P4.After a blistering lap, Vettel goes 9th fastest. A very good day of the year for Williams as both the cars have entered Q2 after a long time. 

After a tremendous and blisters series of laps, Q2 is finished with Perez fastest overall in Q2 followed by Lando Norris, Charles Leclerc, Lewis Hamilton, Verstappen and Bottas. George Russell still keeps his record in beating his teammate in every Qualifying session of every race so far. 

At starting Lando had a pretty good looking lap and was fastest for a moment and had some purples in his way in the Q3. At ending of the session Lando goes 4 hundredths of a second slower than Hamilton and sits in P2 but the stewards cancelled his lap time because of the exploit of track limits and again he goes back to P6. Hamilton is on the provisional pole, Perez did a wonderful and satisfying lap for himself after Lando and snatches P2 from Verstappen, Verstappen in P3 and the member of silver arrows, valteri Bottas in P8. Ocon managing himself to lay a step on Q3 for the first time in the season, and he starts the race in P10.
